Luke is now 3
Only a few weeks ago Robin had his birthday and Luke was not impressed that he didn't get any presents. But I kept telling him that he would get some presents on his birthday - so Luke knew exactly what a birthday meant, and what the routines were.
So on the morning of September the 5th, when Luke woke up he was taken into my bedroom and was told it was his birthday - and boy was he so excited! It was really lovely and cute to see. As he started opening his presents he was almost shaking in excitement and had the biggest smile I have ever seen on his face, all of which made the morning really special for me as well.
When Luke opened up and saw he had just been given his very own board game he just hugged it he was so happy.
Superman!
That night when we did his birthday cake he knew exactly what to do including blowing out the candles, even if it took lots of attempts and cutting out the first slice.
Excited to have his own cake
Cutting a cake for the first time, perfectly safe I'm sure
5 days later on the Saturday it was Luke's turn for a party, and this party was up a Grandma's up at Leigh. So on the Saturday morning we all headed up to Leigh which from my new house in Glen Eden is a lot faster than driving up from Pukekohe I can tell you.
All the family was there plus Luke's God Parents Ange & John. So again as he was the centre of attention and he had a blast. There was lots of young cousins and a couple of locals, games like pass the parcel & dancing. The aim was to ensure Luke had a good time and I believe this was achieved. It was also nice to catch-up again with the family.
